Scope 1 refers to direct emissions of greenhouse gas.
Scope 2 refers to indirect energy emissions of greenhouse gas.
Scope 3 refers to other indirect greenhouse gas emissions (including employees’ overseas travel, waste removal, and disposal, upstream raw materials, raw materials, product transportation, etc.).
Eclat follows ISO 14064-1:2006 and the Greenhouse Gas Emission Coefficient Management Table 6.0.4 from the Environmental Protection Administration to calculate its greenhouse gas emissions, including the six main gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbon, perfluorinated carbon, and sulphur hexafluoride) and nitrogen trifluoride. These calculations are used to determine the company’s emission coefficient and Global Warming Potential.
Eclat adopts the operational control approach while summarizing greenhouse gas emissions and therefore, 100% of the emissions in the inventory are recognized.
Sources of the Scope 1 direct greenhouse gas emissions include natural gas, bituminous coal, diesel, and gasoline.
The electricity emission coefficients for facilities in Taiwan are determined by the Bureau of Energy under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, while those for facilities in Vietnam are determined by the Meteorology, Water, and Climate Change Bureau under the Energy and Environment Department of Vietnam. The emission coefficient for externally purchased steam is provided by Ta-Yuan Cogen Co., Ltd.

Solar power is based on an annual generation of 33,924 KWH and is calculated with the solar power carbon reduction coefficient announced by the Vietnamese Government (605/KTTVBDKH-GSPT).
Electricity emission coefficient in Taiwan is 0.509 kg CO2e/kWh; Vietnam: 0.6612 kg CO2e/kWh.
